State Farm® Makes List of Chief Learning Officer Magazine's LearningElite

State Farm has been named a 2013 LearningElite Finalist by Chief Learning Officer magazine, the foremost resource in the rapidly growing industry of workforce learning and development. State Farm was 33rd on the list of finalists across all industries.

The magazine recognizes organizations that "employ exemplary workforce development strategies that deliver significant business results."

Carra Simmons, Vice President of Learning & Development for State Farm, said the honor validates the Company's work in the industry.

"Being named a LearningElite organization puts us in the same category as companies such as General Mills, AT&T, Accenture, McDonald's Corp., and UPS. In 2012, we worked hard to support consistent, profitable growth through quality, focused, prioritized investments in learning. Partnering with departments across the organization, we created an approach that made the learning process more effective."

Sarah Kimmel, director of research and advisory services for MediaTec Publishing, said competition was intense.

"The organizations that achieved LearingElite status stood out as true innovators in enterprise education."

The program recognizes excellence in five key L&D performance indicators: learning strategy, learning impact, leadership commitment, learning execution, and business performance results.

The aim of the LearningElite is to:

  • Recognize industry leaders.
  • Promote recognition of the critical role that L&D plays in organizational success.
  • Support organizations in achieving best-in-class levels of performance.
  • Identify and share best practices, principles and strategies.
  • Provide powerful benchmarking data for world-class L&D.
